We take care of our teeth every year, but we often forget about our eyes. Yet, an eye exam every two years is one of the best things you can do for your health.
Your vision changes, often without you noticing
Vision loss is rarely sudden. It develops gradually, so much so that we get used to it without realizing it. A visual assessment can detect these changes early, before they affect your daily life.
Some eye diseases have no symptoms
Glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy are serious conditions that can progress silently. Only an optometrist can detect them during a comprehensive eye exam.
Your prescription evolves over time
Even if you see "correctly" with your current glasses, your prescription may have changed. Wearing outdated lenses can cause headaches, eye strain, and unnecessary discomfort.
It is partially covered by RAMQ
For children under 18 and adults aged 65 and over, the exam is reimbursed by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec. For others, several group insurance plans also cover it.
Has it been more than two years since your last exam? Now is a good time to get one.
