Optical Warehouse has various policies to facilitate best solutions for you such as social (income) assistance, insurance programs, Indigenous health services and frames “on hold”. Learn more.
Social Assistance
Are you on social/income assistance? Optical Warehouse offers a range of products that will minimize your payment. You may have to pay a difference though always less than elsewhere.
If in Nova Scotia, contact your case worker to see if you are eligible.
If in Quebec, note the following from the Emploi-Quebec special benefits file:
"Before you buy glasses or contact lenses, you must have a completed form from an agent at the local Employment Center or the Customer Contact Center. This form authorizes the purchase or replacement of glasses or contact lenses under certain conditions. Costs related to the purchase of glasses or contact lenses are paid directly to the optometrist or optician by the Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity. "

Health Insurance
Do you have Vision Benefits?
Optical Warehouse offers direct billing to most insurance providers.
Just bring along your member info provided by your insurance company (normally available on your member card) and we will do the rest! Insurance provider approvals are instant which means you will know exactly how much is covered at the time of purchase and you can pay less out of pocket!

Indigenous Health Services
Are you a member of First Nations or the Inuit community? If so, you can receive vision care benefits through Indigenous Health Services Canada. To do this, make sure you have your beneficiary identification information on hand to facilitate and speed up access to in-store care. How to pay for your glasses
We accept the following payment methods in our locations: Cash, debit, Visa and MasterCard and Optical Warehouse Gift certificates.
Eyeglasses financing
With Fairstone, you can opt to pay for your purchase over 3, 6 or 12 months. The request can be made online from any device at the time of purchase.
Same As Cash Plan (minumum payments of 5%)
Finance Charges will accrue on the purchase from the beginning of the promotional period, and minimum payments equal to 5% of the total amount owed will be due each month. If you pay the purchase price in full by the expiration date of the promotional period, all of the accrued finance charges will be waived and no finance charges will be assessed on the purchase. If you do not pay the purchase price in full by the expiration date of the promotional period, all the accrued finance charges will be assessed to your account at a rate of 31.99% APR. Interest is accumulated starting on the purchase date.
Frames “On Hold”
Your heart craves a frame ... but you don’t have your prescription yet or you want the opinion of a friend? Optical Warehouse understands and offers you the possibility to set aside the frame in-store for a period of time (details in-store).
